Hello,
I have a 29 g tank and am looking to buy lighting for it. I have read so much on this subject on this site, and it seams as if the more I read the less I know. Here is what I want I want to be able to keep anything I want in the tank. By this I mean I dont want to put out the money for a light and then in 6 months do it again because i dont have the right lighting. I am looking mostly at Anemone and such.
Got to love the money this hobby cost. lol and I am just getting started
Any help would be great.
Thank you,
Steve

If you want to keep corals then you should go with MH.
I have read that MH is more effective than most, even with the same wattage.

Lots of opinions on this site about lighting. you need to figure out what you are going ot keep then decide on what light you want.
MH lighing is necessary to keep hard corals. And yes , it is excellent for the reef and anemones, etc..
I have VHO lighting, because I choose not to keep any hard corals. And I am having great sucess.
I would actually tell you this... if you have a 29 now, in 3-6 months you will want a bigger tank.
I would bet the farm on it.
I would think about about buying what you would need for the biggest tank you could keep in the house.lol. I had a 55 and within 2 months had a 90. That was after I bought all the lighting etc.. for the 55.
read up on these boards. I have learned alot and made some great frineds here.
If you need anything, just ask...
