Is it necessary to run my lights during the cycle? Any advantages or disadvantages?

you should run them around 8 hrs a day, help with growth of micro fauna and bacteria. but ive heard of a few people not running there lights too. but i would def. think it would be an advantage. todd

Once you get live stock, you will probly want to bump that up to 10 to 12 hrs a day. just an fyi! goodluck!
