i have a 55 fowlr w/sand bed ,no inverts .could anyone help me choose right bulbs for hood.it takes 2 (T-8) 14watt existing in hood right now.

What type of tank do you plan to have - Fish or Reef?
Each has different requirements - reef uses much higher level of lighting than fish.
Fish simply need lighting for your pleasure and (if you have Live Rock) to continue the photo cycle for the algae.
