can you tell me the best lighting for a 55 gal reef tank with 2 yellow tangs, tomato clown,
two damsels, frogs-spawn mushrooms. I have a 50/50 actinic 10k now.
Thanks

It depends on what you want to do in the future? You should really think about that before spending money.

Can I have sft coral with this lighting? My fros-spawn does very well and it even split. I have a difficult time with soft coral. Any answers or comments

to maintain softies or any more difficult corals youll need minimum of 5 watts per gallon, better off with 7-10 but depends on your ideas of what you want...
are you going to move those tangs to a bigger tank in the future?

If you have the light fixture that came with the tank, you don't have enough light. Like carshark said, you want anywhere from 5-10W per gallon. Just keep in mind that MH light travels farther than flourescent light.
