Quick Question for you ou there. Anyone tried using a Flourescent Fixture from Home Depot on the Aquarium using an aquarium Bulb?
Do I need a special fixture to operate these aquarium bulbs or can I use the fixtures from Home Depot?
Also If ay knows of Compact Flourescent fixtures?

These type fixtures are exactly what I use over my tank..Except I gutted themout and mounted the end caps directly to the hood,and mounted the ballast under the cabinet..The steel housing that comes with these fixtures take up too much room...

I have use HomeDepot fixtures (2 x 40 W) on my 55 G
with CoralLife bulbs
I have not see any PC fixture in HD
this question should be under equidment & DIY forum, don't you think?

I use hardware store lighting fixtures on my freshwater to grow plants and they work fine!
