Hi, new to the boards, hoping somone can help me. I am getting a 125g and need info on lighting. Right now I have a 54g and am using a prism pendant, but won't be able to use it w/ the 125. any ideas on lumens or wattage per gallon that you should have?
Any suggestions where to get a good light.

metal halide. all the way, with some vho or power compact for the actinics. i would go maybe 250w 3x with 4 96w actinic. that way u can keep what ever you want.

i have been reading and found that I need roughly 3.5 watts per gallon, so I am going to need 420 watts. it this a combo of the halide and the actinics or 420 each?
also, any good place to buy a light

i've been reading about the "outer Orbit". it has a totat of 560 watts which is 4.67wpg. it has 6 lunar lights, 2 - 150 Halides and 2 - 130 actinics.
I have researched 3 places to buy it from, 1 near me--they know nothing $900,
the 2nd, Dr Foster/Smith $769, and the 3rd, where I used to live in MD--$675.
Its definately worth the 1 hr drive to roozen nurseries to save $100
