ok things are falling into place as far as getting wat i need for my tank now comes the lighting question..would a 10,000 k or 20,000 k bulb be good for a 55 gallon reeftank?/

Yes they will be ok. You may want to mach the type of corals you will have to the light.If you want fluorescing corals go with 20k, you want more growth from sps 10k.

So I'm assuming Halides...what are your supplemental light? Will this be the only light source? You say reef tank, what kind of corals? Need more info than just whether 10K or 20k.

More important are the watts of the lighting.
