Lighting

I am setting up my first saltwater tank, and I have a silly question. I bought some equipment from a friend, and he gave me some bulbs that are about two years old, but have never been used. He stored them in closet. Are they still useable? Or should I just toss them and start over?

I don't know why they wouldn't work.

unless they're broken they should work they're just like any kind of regular bulb
