Lights affecting my shrimp?

Is it possible, or even normal, for new lights to affect the behavior of a cleaner shrimp?
I put new lights on my tank a few weeks ago, and ever since he just hides under the rocks. He used to be out all day long running the tank, now he will come out for a minute or two, and comes out for a bit at lights out...but mostly he stays under the rocks, barely visible. He shed about 3 days after the new light, but it has been something like two weeks now...
Any ideas? The only other change was right around that time I added a Pink Spotted Watchmen Goby, but I never see him bothering the shrimp.

Most of the shrimp i have kept tended to hide more when the lights were on and would explore more once they turned off. Some hide more then others, does the shrimp come out when you feed the tank?

Not often. He used to come out and go crazy, but the last few weeks you just see his little antennae reach out and he stays under the rock.

Many shrimp are nocturnal.

I know many are, but that isn't what I am talking about. He is active, he walks around the underside of the rocks all day, and will peep out to the top of the rock once or twice.
Also, he wasn't anything near nocturnal before I went to T5's. Since making the switch and adding the goby into the tank he hides most of the time, day and night.

The lights you have on now are no doubt much brighter than the old ones. Your shrimp doesn't like so much light. Once he got used to hanging out under the rocks hidden, that has become his territory and where he is most comfortable now and he will stay in that area.
