lights at night

after the day is over, do you have to leave your moon lights on all night while you go to sleep? When should you turn your lights off? does it affect your tank? :notsure:

no they dont have too stay on all night. they are basically for looks anyway.

You can turn them off after fish settle down or are asleep so as not to startle them. Doesnt hurt to leave them on. I leave mine on all night. 24/7 actually

I have moon lights...I was thinking the moon isn't out all night, They used to be on from 9:00pm-2:00am but now it's until about 4:00pm

100g lights turn on at 10:30am and off at 10:00pm. Moon lights on 24/7.
30g lights on at 8:00am and off at 7:00 pm, and moon lights on 24/7.
One thing I have noticed is that my inverts are much more active, even during the daytime since I installed the moonlights. Don't know if there is any relation (probably not). but it does look really cool.

My moon lights comes on at 12:30am the moment the Actinics goes off and turns off at 3:30am, I have this tank in my bedroom, can't sleep with lights on all night. It doesn't seem to bother anything, my candy cane actually puffs out with all it's sweeper tentacles out during darkness, it won't do it under moon lights though. :happyfish

Mine are kept on 24 hours, you got to think does the moon go out at 3am over the carribean, maybe if its raining, other than that the moon stays out (most of the time)until the sun comes up, sooo I would just leave them on when ever you actinics goes off and before they come back on.

True to that, but the moon lights really aren't needed! It's to each his/or her own preference. You can leave it on all night if you'd like or you can turn them off after certain time. It doesn't hurt a thing. :happyfish

Well depending on time of month/moon phase there can be little to no moonlight over the Caribbean or your house in Idaho at all.
