Lights go off.

Well I bought some VHO's used from my LFS on sunday. It's a 4 bulb 110 watts a piece. Anyways it worked fine for 4 days and then yesterday when I turned it on, it will come on for a split second then go off. I tried several times over two days and same thing everytime. One of the bulbs def. needs to be changed as it has some black "burn out" on the end. My question is will one light being burnt out keep the whole unit from staying on? I'm going to get some new bulbs this weekend and hopefully that's the problem but just wanted to check with you guys and make sure it wouldn't be a bad ballast or something else.

very possibly could be a lamp it realy depends on how the ballast is internally wired, but i would try the lamps first

Ok that's what I'm going to do, It has 4 white ones anyways so I want to get some atinics.
