lights on/off

Hey Guys,
I need your help again! What can I do with the lights. I was told to live them on 6 hr/day... Should I turn both lights at the same time? Any ideas of timers, since I have one cable for both lights!

When you say one cable, do you mean one cord/plug? If that's the case, then setting them to come on at different times isn't such an easy proposition.
If you have corals (which judging by your other thread I'm guessing you don't), then you'll want to leave the lights on a bit longer. If no corals, then it's really up to you.
As for the timers, I like them... they are cheap and easy to use, and is one less thing you have to think about. Plus it gives your tank a routine, which I think is good.

I personally think if yu have corals a max of 10 hours is about it in most cases so a period of 8 to 10 hours should put you in the ball park and once there yu can make final adjustments if needed.

I have my lights on for 12 hrs. a day.
