I am going to be getting my lr today from saltwater.com I have heard both ways to go and I'm wondering do you leave your lights on or shut them off for awhile? I think most of you said to leave them on. Is that okay when they say you should be leaving them off for awhile? Thanks!

I have always left them on. If you have fish in the tank and they freak out you could shut off the lights to help calm them down.

What are you doing? Cycling? The LR flora would survive short periods of time with no light. If your cycling, its best to reduce the time the lights are on and even the amount of light if thats possiable with your fixtures. This will help reduce the algae plum during and after cycling until you get your nutreints down.
