lightspeed cycle??

Sat. morning I put in three huge tiger <cocktail> shrimp to start my cycle. Right after I added stress zyme. Sun afternoon I tested ammonia. It register around 3.0. Last night I tested again and it was at .2!! I know that the bacterial reproduces by splitting so 140,000 bacteria introduced on Sat. could be 1,120,000 bacteria on Tues. but could that really drop the ammonia THAT fast? I still have the shrimp in there and the water REEKS!!! I'll check Nitrites tonight, but I can't imagine the ammonia is being broken down that fast. Any opinions?

I would retest the ammonia as well....
There are many ways to speed up the cycle - using established tank water - using LR and LS in your tank .....
Don't remember biological cellular reproduction enough to verify your numbers though

Cool, thanks. I'll do a full batttery of tests tonight and see where things are. I'll also take out two shrimp, then maybe I won't have to sleep on the couch anymore LOL :)
