Are the blotches gone? I do not know what to call it but at times my Volitans do this every once in awhile, and no problems with them.

Both good and bad, The good - it will help in weaning your lion, hopefully when the lion gets hungry it takes to frozen. The Bad - if your lion is young it needs nutrition even through the weaning process, it is hard to feed these young fish like they are adults.
You can try stretching it out and if it does not take the food than feed 1 - 2 ghost shrimp daily for lets say 3 days than go back to stretching it out. I would feed the ghost shrimp something nutritional such as Pellets or cyclopeze first.
