has any one had good luck with loin fish and reef tank??if so how many gallons?? how big was the lion when you put it in there?? any small fish to eat??did it bite corals or inverts?? sorry about all the questions just really want one for my 90 reef
They are not a threat to corals at all, but perhaps shrimp and any small fish for sure. The problem may be water quality...this is the general reason that lots of predators (of other fish) don't mix well with reefs.
i have a russels in my 205 with simple things such as shrooms, polyps, leathers .. they show no interest at all in corals, but will eat any small fish thats for sure!!
I have a dwarf fuzzy in my 25gal (40gal total) reef (well in the process of becomming a reef) and he hasn't bothered anything. His current tank mates are a blue damsel and royal gramma, he is still pretty small though, but so far so good. I think as long as you can skip the shrimp in your tank and make sure that his other tank mates can't fit into his mouth, it should be ok.
Here is a pic of mine next to a pipe organ coral
Since I absolutely love Murph's tank, I went and found the past thread that he posted his pics so that I could show you. I have a fuzzy dwarf too, and every one is beautiful, but his is even nicer because he has beautiful coral surounding it.
Amber, I really like yours as well! It is amazing how different each one looks. Yours is almost entirely red, whereas Murph's is almost half yellow, and mine is a mix between both yours and Murph's. Mine is posted below. https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/182480/new-eye-candy-pics-of-my-100-reef
