Lion Fish and Tank Size

OK I have been doing a lot of looking on the boards and I used the search option and I have not found what I am looking for. I was wondering if you all could tell me what the recommended tank size is for the different types of Lion Fish. I know there all suppose to have large swimming areas and all that but I am going to be upgrading my tank and I need to know what size I can get to get a Lion Fish. I don't know what kind of Lion Fish I want but I know I want one. So if you could give me some feed back that would be great

THANK YOU in advance

it varies from dwarves in a 35g to a volitans in a 150g,,, everywhere in between since of different sizes when full grown. Just look the different lionfish up (like on this site) and it suggests a minimum tank size and usually somewhere around there to double is where you should be for an adult,,,(not really specfic unless you know which kind you want, i think there are almost 20 varieties of lions)

Thats kinda what I'm talking about I don't know what I want I just wanted some information. And I wanted the size of the tank I need for the adult I don't want to have to update the tank later to keep it alive. Also I was wondering what everyone thought of the different types of Lion Fish. Like what one is better and why?

My fuzzy dwarf = 24g
My Volitan = 100g.
The volitan is just going in the 100g actually. For some reason at age 3 he grew and only required a 65g.

Hahahaha. That was an easy choice. IMO there is no fish as gorgeous and impressive looking than a full grown lion. Those spines with the fins looking like fans. They are stunning fish and I will have one in my next tank.

You are correct. Everyone thinks my seahorses are cool... lot's of "Ohhs" and "Ahhs", but when they move to the bedroom with the volitan, their eyeballs pop out. Sure, they are a dime a dozen, but still you don't see too many adults in many people's tanks anymore. Especially not now that the nanocubes are super popular.
He was just in his begging position so I could measure his fin span... he's 13" wide.

IM GONNA CATCH HELL FOR THIS BUT I DON'T CARE!
I have had Volitan Lions for years. I have had them in 55's 125's and yes a 10 GAL. (for 6 months).
I will say that a good filter..rated for more than the tank size and WATER CHANGES are key.
You do not need a 500 gal for a lion...you dont.

My husband kept one of his in a 55 gallon for 10 years. But he admits the one we have now is a bigger adult than his was.

They are suppose to be fast growers. But mine just grew at his third year. He was fine in his 65 but now has to be moved to a bigger tank. It's not normal for them to grow at this point though.
Mine was smaller than a walnut when I got him. I like to get my fish small and grow them up. Sometimes I am taking more risks because some of the smaller fish don't do so well, but I haven't had it backfire on me yet.
Mine started in a 6g. He was there for a long time. The tank he is moving to will be his 4th.
