i just got my new lion 2 days ago i'm making sure he is real hungry before i try and feed him I am going to start him off with small goldfish for 2 weeks 1 time every 2 days and then try and move him onto frozen krill.

If anyone has had any similar incidents let me know.
i am not too sure how hardy lionfish are, but isnt it kind of early for that

I know this will bring out the don't cycle with fish police but several sources I have read report that lionfish are very hardy and very tolerant. A couple authors mentioned that lionfish were recommended at one time for cycling of a tank but since the damsels were so much cheaper they won out in popularity for this task.
But back to the topic at hand. I have a fuzzy dwarf and started him with a couple of feeder guppies since I couldn't get any ghost shrimp locally. The last 2 feedings however have been with frozen krill. I break it up into very small pieces and he chases it round in the current and finally gobbles it up. Been feeding him every couple of days.
