Lion fish owners

I am thinking of stocking my 75 reef ready with a lion . As I have never kept one before . I was wondering what are some other fish I might be able to keep with the lion ? I know its not a big enough tank to house a larger lion . So I was thinking that maybe going with a fuzzy dwarf lion maybe 2 of them . I have a wet dry sump and a good skimmer so no worries of filtration . ARe lions reef safe ? Will they eat corals and inverts . I have been told they are mellow with snails crabs and shrimp .
I wanna do something besides the trigger wrase puffer combo .

Lionfish can be kept with any fish that will not fit in its mouth (which can expand larger than you might think). It is also important that lions not be kept with overly aggressive fish or fin-nippers (eg. some large angels, the more aggressive triggers and puffers, etc)
Lionfish will not eat corals or sessile invertabrates, but will make short work of shrimp and small fish. By the books, a 75 is large enough for any of the lions.

That can be tough because either one will eat the other if it is at all possible. I'm sure it can be done, but it will take some carefull selection and monitoring.

I have a Fuzzy dwarf in my reef tank. He doesn't bother anything except he ate a shrimp. The only problem is that I he hides behind the rocks all day long. Only comes out at night when the lights are off.

My fuzzy dwarf tends to perch in the rocks most of the day except when someone comes into the room then it is all up front and on display, begging for food. No matter if he has just eaten or not. I have him with a foxface, blue tang, and soon to be flame angel. Good luck!

I used to have 2 fuzzy's in a 75g with a flame angel. That turned out to be a very good mix. The fuzzy's are beautiful fish and have a lot of personality, they will beg for food anytime you're in sight, but they can also be very lazy and like to sit around. The angel swims around a lot though, almost nonstop, so it is a nice contrast.
Fuzzy's will readily eat cleaner shrimps, but mine didn't have any interest in the reef lobster, coral banded shrimp, or cleaner crabs and snails.
Good luck with your tank, you'll love the fuzzies.

I've kept these two with no problem. Be sure to get an Australian Tusk if you can. More$, but, IMO, much prettier & hardier. They're hard to find this time of year, though.

I don't think it really matters. I consider lions to be predators, not aggressive. Harlequins (I love to talk about these fish, obviously) are big, robust, active & flashy; but I've never had one that bothered any tankmates. Even other wrasse. Ideal fish for a larger tank, I can't think of any fish, of suitable size, that I wouldn't keep with one.
