well ive decided to do away with the reef tank and would like to get a lion fish. i have a 54 gal corner tank and was wondering if this tank would be big enough to get a lion and if so witch kind? i know some of them get huge fast and i dont plan on getting a bigger tank anyime soon so is this at all possible? also if there is one that would be happy in a 54 what would be 1 or 2 other fish that could be kept safe with a lion? was kind of hopeing to have at least 3 fish. thanks

Go with a dwarf species. They don't get as large and have a nice personality. Your tank realy isn't big enough for the larger species.

thats what i figured. the dwarf zebra looks really cool. would one of these work? also what kind of info on these? ive had a reef set up for about 5 years or so and got rid of all the coral. do i keep the same water flow? feedind? etc?

Dwarf Zebras are great. You can keep everything they way it is just make sure there are caves and overhangs to provide shelter and shade. You'll probably have to start your lion on live food (ghost shrimp are best) until he accepts frozen food. You might have a little trouble but all lions usually come around. Feed a variety of food such as; krill, silverside, squid, clam etc... Soak these in garlic to make it more appetizing and in vitamins like selcom and zoe to keep him healthy.

I completely agree. I kept my fuzzy in qt for about two months, not because he ever showed signs of disease, but because I wanted to be certain that he was eating well. He started on live ghost shrimp then, after a few weeks, I started with frozen krill soaked in vitamines. I put it in a net and had to 'release' it then catch it, the thawed krill, several times and sometimes shake it to get him to eat. Then he started going after it quicker and quicker. Silversides are still far too big for my fuzzy, but he goes after the formula foods that I put in for my other fish. Here is a pic of my Lion in the display.
