I just bought a Lion from my LFS, when i got him home i noticed a few of the spines/fins were missing on the side. Just wonder if those grow back or not. Thanks.

Also keep in mind what his tankmates are. Just about any trigger will potentially go after his remaining fins.

I agree with both of the above. Use a vitamin supplement that is high in vitamin C, such as Selcon or VitaChem. Both of these products can be dosed right in the fish's food and help promote fin regeneration.

Let me guess. It's a red violitian. They have such large find compared to the common voilitian. So much prettier but LFS have hard time netting them with hurting a couple of spines. They grow back trust me. Look up the difference on a fish site if you are confused about the difference.

This is one reason you should Never
net a lion, use a pitcher or pail ..

Ya, its a red violitian. I was looking at him a little closer today and there only seems to be one missing. Hes just been sitting on some rocks or in the sand bed since i got him. He ate a little bit of food that floated by not too long after he went into the tank but doesnt seem to be intersted in much so far. Hopefully it just takes some getting use to a new tank and the surroundings.
