Lion & Puffer?

If I remeber right most people say not to put both a lion and puffer into the same tank. Is this correct? I believe that the puffer will nip at the lions fins.
Also anyone with tips on getting there lion to eat frozen foods. I have my lion in a q-tank, and won't move him over until I'm sure that he can compete with my wrasse and eel for food.

Hi there Stacy, I'm just speaking from very recent experience. My Lion was nipped at by my dogface puffer. I soon there after got rid of the puffer, but the lion soon developed some kind of infection and bit the dust :( So, I would really say not to mix them. My lion ate frozen right away. When they get hungry enough they'll eat. Some say to soak the food in Garlic first, or wave it on a string to make it look "alive", but I never had to.
Well, I've got a question for you...How do you feed your Ghost eel. I recently got one and he'll take a close look, but rarely tries to eat...Thanks

When I 1st got my ghost ribbon eel I put him in a 20 gallon tank by himself. This made it a little easier to try to get him to feed as there was nothing else in the tank for him to compete with. At 1st when I would put a feeder stick in the tank he would shy away from it. So what I did was put the feeder stick in the tank next to his cave, and left it there for a couple of days. Then I soaked a piece of shrimp in garlic, placed that on the feeder stick, and placed it in front of his cave. I left it there for about an hour before he decided to try it. Since then whenever I place a piece of food in front of his cave he'll come right out and take it. I knew when I got him that he was eating, but he would only go for live food. Thats the same as my lion. I had them feed him at the store, and he ate live food just fine.

I used to have a dog-faced puffer and a lion fish in the same tank together (for about 2 years). They left each other alone. I don't have them anymore because I converted my tank into a reef.

I got mine to take a bite of food. He didn't eat all of it just a little piece. I tied a piece of krill to a string then tied that to the hood. I left it there for a while and he finally took a piece. You can buy live feeders, but from my understanding it's still not a good idea to have this as their primary diet. I don't believe that they have the neccessary supplements. I was told not to give in to the temptation of feeding him live feeders. Kind of like training a kid. If you give in then it will never work.
