Lionfish act'n weird

We got up & We got up & turned on the lights & noticed that our Lion (which we've had for about 8 month's) Was doing vertical circles & sometimes either running head 1st into a rock or the glass, We immediatly ck the water perimiters in which the Amonia was only up 1 level BUT did a water change anyway, Has anyone seen this behavior or have any idea's, He has seemed to have calmed down some....................Thanks "John & Sherri"

ammonia will kill a fish. When you say ammonia was "only up one" You need to find the reason. Leftover food. Something died in the tank. You need to get it out. Your tank should not have any ammonia. Its not something to take casual like you seem to be doing.

maybe begging for food?..but yeah find the source of the ammonia and remove it...
