My coworkers are trying to get thier hands into stocking my new tank (it's at work). Would this work out in a standard 55 gal? Valentini Puffer, Scotter Blennie, Tang (good suggestions please), Lionfish (again suggestions on type) and clown (like tomato's but doesn't have to be that one)

In a 55 gallon tank you are going to have to stay with a very small lionfish, like a Dwarf Lion. Any of the other types will outgrown a 55 gallon in no time.

ou could put a baby tang in it, im only saying this because i did, you may have people frown on it on this board, but if he is small it should be fine, i have a convict tang, and it is awesome. he usta be shy but not anymore

Depending on it's usual feeding habbits a moderately sized Dwarf Lion could eat a Scooter Blenny or a Clown. But generally in my experience Lions tend to leave their tankmates alone most of the time. Unless they provoke the lionfish to act otherwise. I have had many small fish in my tanks with large 13" volitans and they don't bother them a bit. I have had them chase a large Lunare Wrasse (15") and Banana Wrasse (6") around the tank, but that most more chasing off an annoyance than trying to eat them. But just keep in mind that any fish that can fit into a lions mouth is always a possible treat for them. The puffer and the tang you won't have to worry about.
