Lionfish suddenly won't eat

Our Volitan suddenly stopped eating last week. We've had him for 5 months now and he normally eats every other day. Last week he just stopped eating. We try to feed him every day. Sometimes he'll act like he's interested in the food, but he won't eat it. We normally feed him frozen shrimp, squid, octopus, the same things we feed our moray.
Is it normal for them to go without eating at times?
He's still active, swims around at night, stays in one place during the day.
We're just worried something else might be wrong. Any information or suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks,
ghiggi

They do that every now and then. Sometimes they just dont feel the need to eat, but try tempting it with live food in a few days...

Just stay on the same schedule trying to feed him the same foods. If hes interested when he gets hungry, he'll eat. Morays are finicky creatures with odd feeding habbits. Zebras sometimes go for months for no reason.

Heheh, better get prepared for an anorexic zebra, right? lol. BUT, I can remember a time a while back wen my volitan wouldnt eat anything for a solid week and a half, then one day just went after a small mysid shrimp. I went back, got a silverside for him, and he was eating again. Gotta be an emoitional thing, lol.
