Lionfish with puffers

I dont know if it was clear to you all but I keep on seeing posts about it being alright to keep these 2 fish together. In fact it is not alright.... the lionfish often ends up stinging the pufferfish and killing it within a day or 2. There agressive feeding behaviors are to hand in hand...just thought I would let you all know.

I have had success with putting these to fish together. They are both aggressive eaters and I thaught that they would not mix because of the lion. But, come to find out if the lion is added first and has had time to settle 2-3 months. Adding the puffer is fine, I have only seen the mix not work once the puffer was 10inches long and very well established. 6 years established, one of my salesman sold a volitan to them and the lion by accident stung the puffer durring feeding and the puffer ate the intire lion fish in response right in front of the owner. The next day the puffer was dead.
:( :(
So I fired the salesman for his mistake and gave the owner a volitan and a 8 inch puffer 2 months later. They still live together happily. I have this mix in about 60 other tanks. Customers love the puffer and the lion both. Once they own one and then they want the other. I suggest that you add the puffer second to the lion, because of the experience that I have had. Although I have added juvi's at the same time with success.

I posted asking this question the other day. I was pretty sure that it wasn't a good idea so figured why not ask. Thats what I love about this board. I know some people have had success, but I didn't want to take a chance. Besides the wife wanted the puffer, and I told her to get it we would need a nother tank. <img src="graemlins//evilwhorn.gif" border="0" alt="[Evil Horn]" /> So now I have another tank, and the puffers in my q-tank until its ready.
