LIONS/REEFS

Yeah I know the different varieties need different sizes of tanks, I am planning on setting up a 90 or 100g reef. But is there a lionfish out there that has a temprement more suited towards a reef.

IMO i feel any lion is pretty much reef safe, not to mention a grteat addition, but like everyone else has said it pretty much is the size of the tank that will make you depend on the lion you choose

Well, lionfish are actually pretty peaceful in that they don't chase fish, but what makes them suited in an aggressive tank is their poison and their huge stomach (and mouth, I've seen them gulf down a huge chunk of squid). I was really torn between an aggressive tank and a reef tank, but currently I'm set on an aggressive and hopefully down the road it might become a reef.
Lets say that you get a 100 gallon tank with like 100lbs lr. You could get a lot of cool corals, and suprisingly enough aggressive fish. Here's a list of fish that are technically and aggressive: All lions, most groupers (Panthers, Blue dot, Blue line, ect..), a few triggers (blue jaw, niger, pink tail), a few wrasses, and a most small eels. Also, hard corals are better choices for obvious reasons, but right now, I gotta go, I post more in a bit

i had a lion in my reef for a while b4 i sold him with no problems but thjen again he was small and none of this fish could fit in his mouth. SO any type should be fine as long as you dont have any bite size fish in your tank

I'v got a lion in my reef and he's fine. He'll be moved do to the fact he gets so big. But for right now everything is fine. I'v got a yellow tang in there as well and niether seem to mind.I won't let the lion get to hungry though, I'm scared he might try and eat the tang.
