Well my prizm has been producing a lot of bubbles and i was wondering if the bubbles are good or are they bad?
The cpr back pack simmer has that blue mesh thingy to reduce bubbles(i think) so cant i just put some of that in my prizm?
Also, my mini-penguin has been splashing water and adding more bubbbles in the tank, no matter how high i raise it, its still going to splash, you guys have any ideas how to stop it from splashing?

IMO, don't add things to the skimmer that aren't designed to be used with it. You will affect it's efficiency.
If the skimmer is new, microbubbles are normal. Once the skimmer has pulled most of the additives/wastes out of the water, the bubbles should dissipate. I am not too familiar with the prizm, but microbubbles seem to happen with all skimmers I have seen at first.
Can't help you with the penguin, except to say that you may be able to get by with just the skimmer, and no mechanical filter.

The prizm should be throttled back alittle with the knob on top of the pickup tube. Is it new? If so, it may take a couple days to break in.
No idea on the penguin, but, wouldn't you lower it to the water surface to stop bubbles? Just a guess, never had one.

well its not a new prizm but i acutally took it out and cleaned the parts, because it actually had alot of debris, so that might be the reason why... i dont know bubbles are just annoying to me

I have a question too.........
Do salt water tanks supposed to have any bubbling things in it? My fresh water tank I keep bubble strips in, I like the look of it.
BUT, in my new 75 SW tank, I just have the 2 power heads that intermittenly spit out small bubbles. Should I turn them down so I dont see ANT bubbles or are some OK??
Thanking you kindly, Kim

so,
the tiny amount of bubbles coming from one of my power heads will not harm anything, as long as thats the ONLY bubbling here, right? I will try to stop the bubbling, when I do, it seems as though the powerhead is NOT doing anything. Maybe I just cant see it.. I will check
Thanking you kindly, Kim

Are your powerheads fully submerged? Mine occasionally shot tiny bubbles when I first set them up - I was told not to use the aeration tube. Stilll a newbie..........

dont use the airate tube, that is a correct um it should be fully submerdged... well mines is just 2 mm out of the water

Hi,
My powerheads are fully submerged they are ... one one each side air flow facing in and a bit down. The one on the right is spitting NO bubbles but the one on the left is every so often doing that......
Also, they are covered with tiny bubbles still from set up....

Try knocking with your knuckles and/or shaking the PH. Even upside-down. Air may be traped inside.
