Little grey shrimp?

I was doing some live rock chiseling this morning to remove an aiptasia and tube snail and out onto my papertowel came a little grey creature. It was maybe 2 mm, and it "flipped" around like a shrimp does out of water. I dont think it was any type of pod, but I'm not sure what it was at all. I popped it into my fuge, and when I did it swam in a "floating" manner like i've seen big mantis shrimp and lobsters do. I doubt ill ever see it again, so no photo, but if anyone has any idea I'd be happy to know. I added a softball size piece of cheato and 3 pounds of rubble to my fuge so im sure i have lots of new things ;)

Did it look like this?

It's an amphipod. It shows that you have an established tank. It's a good thing. Hopefully you have lots of them in your tank. They're detritus eaters.

Yeah that was it :) Very glad to hear, the tank is now about a month old and being prepped for mandarin and im trying like crazy to get the pod population up without buying pods. I think i have some pods, look like specs of sand flying around in the tank if i adjust flow in the HOB filter or if I move anything in the fuge... I'm so freaking afraid to get the fish and starve it,

I have a spotted mandarin in my 28g nano cube and he's fat and happy. It's because he also eats the frozen brine I put in there. I guess I just got lucky and bought a fish that DOES eat frozen food. I've heard that the spotted mandarins are more likely to accept frozen food than the normal ones are.
