little white "flies"

Last night when I was turning the lights off on my tank, I noticed 3 or 4 white things skating around on the water. They were moving so fast I couldn't get a good look at them. The best way I can describe them is as little white fly things. I just added a couple of pieces of new LR and I've never seen these bugs anywhere in my house. Anybody have any ideas what these are?

This is one hell of a coinidence. I was going to ask the same question this morning. I turned on my lights, and noticed a large amount of white bug looking creatures on my glass. They look like the have 6 legs, and a very small and white/transparent. I was thinking they where pods, and I hoped they where. They looked like they where feeding off the alge I have on the back glass of the tank. The disapered after the lights where on for about 10 minutes. If they are pods I really don't have anything in there that eats them. so hopefully there numbers wont get out of control.

my local pet store has those in one of the hermit crab tanks. they look just like little underwater nats. First thing I thought when I saw them. this is a top notch store that only does aquatics so I assume they are good. they seemed purposely put in there as food.
