Little white specks?

My emperor angle has tiny white specks on his tail fin and just a few on his body, I did do a 20% water change today. Did not notice them until I did the water change. No one else has them. Any thoughts on this? I noticed that he is hanging by the cleaner shrimp and getting groomed a good bit.

Sounds like ich. The other fish may not exhibit symptoms now, but will in time if it goes untreated. Check out the FAQ's in the Disease forum for treatment options.

I hope that you have a QT set up. You will probably need it for all of your fish. Those white spots aren't freckles and all of the remaining fish will probably come down with the same disease IMHO.

Ok , now the white spots are so fine and small you can bearly see them and flat, I mean you have to strain your eyes to see it, BUT, this emperor angle is losing his color. Its like he is getting trasparent, especially the top 1/3 of his body, he eats, not like he was eating , but he indeed eats, and all other fish, 2 clowns, 1 tang, 3 damsels all look and act great.
The angle spends alot of time just barely touching the powehead and then spins a really fast circle and then does it again and again.
I don't know what to think.
I do not have a QT set up, I am going to get one this weekend and put some of my live sand and a live rock in there and the filter that is in the DT, and then what? Should I put water from the DT in there?

you have those fish in a 55 gal?....if you want to put some water from your dt thats fine but it depends on the size of the qt,if its small you can fill it up but if its,say 30 gal you should fill it up a little bit each week

Take a close look with a magnifying glass. If the spots are round and smooth then they are ich. What all is in your display? Do you have corals of any kind?

Yes they are in a 55 gallon, no corals, I was looking at tanks tonight, I am thinking I am going to get a 16 inch bow. Maybe a 20 gallon rectangle and use the hang on filter that is in the display tank, I have another I can put on the 55 gallon. Would a 16 gallon be to small?
Whats with that fish losing his color is that ick, that makes them lose color, and why is it no other fish has any signs,

If you have no corals then remove the rock and inverts into a tub with a heater and a power head. Hypo the display. Yes, the ich is causing stress to him and making him lose his color. The other fish have been exposed to ich. They may not be showing signs yet, but they will as the ich feeds off of your other fish and reproduces in the tank.

Tank up 2 months, fish in there 3 weeks, set it up with premuim live rock filter that turns over 500 gallons , 2 power heads one on each side and that protien filer.

Well, that complicates things a little. You can set up a qt and cycle it, which means you will have to wait to treat the fish or do MANY water changes to keep the tank from cycling, or you can hypo the display. By hypoing the display, you will lose the inverts and micro-fauna in the sand. If you choose to hypo the display you will not have to worry about a cycling tank and the sand can be re-seeded, but your sand will only be live in bacteria after the hypo is complete. Again, the sand can be re-seeded. This is up to you. You may want to go ahead and set up a qt large enough for all of your fish. You can cycle it with LR. The rock will have to be removed before you treat the fish though.

The good news is that your fish are still alive. The bad nes is that vyou now have ich. IMHO you need to get your tank into hypo mode ASAP. Go to the Disease forum and look up the procedures for how to do this.
I know this is not the time that you want to hear it, but your tank is WAAAY too small for an emperor angel by himself. My QT is 55 g and my 9+" emperor would have trouble fitting in there.
Once you cure your fish you have 2 immediate options. 1) Take the emperor back to the LFS and get a fish that suites a 55. OR 2) Get a 125+ tank for your soon to be 15" angel or it will die.

you still has a little bit of time to get a bigger tank up and running because the emperor won't grow 15" over night,but the sooner the better. Make sure that when you (if you) put that emperor in a bigger tank, that the tank is matured and your readings are perfect

Advise please, do I take the star fish out for the hypo that I going to undertake in the AM/
I am going to take the LR and other things crabs, conch, shrimp, out and put in a tub, Do I put sand in there too?
I am not sure cause I have seen it yet, but it seems those damsels are ruling my 55 gallon tank. There are 4 in there.
Have 2 clowns, a 2.5" maybe, yellow tang, and the emperor.
If I can master this salt water, I will I am sure going bigger, but this is so much harder then freshwater. But then again I struggled with freshwater for 6 months.

Only add the fish to the qt. No non-fish can go through hypo. If you are using a tub then everything but the fish and sand should come out. You have true live sand, you will be sacrificing everything "live" about the sand besides the bacteria. The sand can be re-seeded though with the live rock.

Damsels are mean. What kind of star do you have? You can certainly scoop out quite a bit of the sand to add into the tub. You don't want to stir it up too much, but if you scoop quite a bit out then more of the micro-fauna and other critters will not be subjected to hypo saline conditions.
