Live Brime Shrimp?

A guy at the LFS told me that he puts bags of brime shrimp eggs (the kind that come with salt) directly in his tank and lets the eggs float around. From what he said the eggs will get trapped in the LR, hatch, and populate the LR giving the fish extra food. Anyone heard of this?

never heard of putting them right into your tank...i've hatched them in a 10 gallon with a piece of LR...i'm not sure if it's good or bad for your tank......they do have hatchers you can stick on the back of your tank that let the brine swim out when they hatch...
