Live coral good to start tank

Is live coral good to use to start a new tank? Someone is selling on ----, has had for 13 years and sells by the pound! Thanks

Is it just coral or are they selling rock too? Don't just add coral without cycling the tank first. The corals will not be able to live through the spikes. If the person is selling 13 year old rock then that will cycle your tank.
