Live Purple!

I have a 55 gallon FOWLR. I have a very live 12 lb rock and around 25 lbs of base rock. I'm well past cycling and the brown bloom is gone but all of the 'live purple' stuff is spreading onto my sand. Really it's this living purple carpet complete with bright green patches, worms, little plants, green bubbles, everything.... The thing is it's much prettier on the rock only. What can i do to keep this under control. Oh yea, I have 4 various damsels (didn't cycle with them, just hardy first fish) several small hermit crabs a emerald crab and a big snail. Thanks.

'Red Slime' ? It that the technical term? And really appears to be the same growth that is on my live rock. How do I get rid of it? Thanks.
