Live Rock and Curing Requirements

SWF.com states "the live rock we offer does not need to be further cured." Does any one have an opinion on this? I want to add about 25 lbs to my existing 50 lbs in my 75 gallon.

In my opinion, any LR, even fully cured, will have some die off during the shipping process and that die off can cause an ammonia spike if placed in an established tank. Call me paranoid if you wish, but if it were me, I'd still cycle the new LR in a rubbermaid tub... it just will probably not take as long as it would if it were uncured rock.

i'd agree that you should cure it. you don't know what could have been living in the rock and died off from being out of water during the shipping process
