live rock and ich

If the fish tank has been empty for two weeks does the live rock still have ich, i am planning on moving some of the rock to a different tank, do i really need to wait 4 weeks to move it???

Your half way there so don't move any of the live rock as of yet. I think that it is possible to transfer ick from an infected tank via live rock during the phase in the lifecycle where it is unattached to the fish and living in the substrate or even in a pour of a rock. Just make sure that the tank remains without a host for the ick to continue.
