live rock and lighting questions

hello again everyone. well, i have visited my local fish supply store and have gotten some prices on some of the things i may need. they have live rock but charge $9.99/lb plus taxes (15% in my neck of the woods) i figure i would need about 50 lbs of it for my tank (90g) and am wondering if there is any way for me to buy only a portion of the rock i need and fill the rest of the tank with regular ornamental strealised rock. how much live rock would i need to evetually make all of the rock become live, and how long would that take? is this reccomended or should i bite the bullet and get it all live right off the bat?
my next question is about lighting.
i plan to use MH bulbs and got a price for a coralife brand bulb it is 175w 20,000k. they are asking $199.99 (not including the ballast) now ive seen 250w MH bulbs at home depot for about $30.00 would it be wise for me to buy the coralife bulb at that price? are there any real differances between them, or is this one of those situations where your paying for the name?
i dont mind spending the money but i dont want to be a fool when im trying to get prices together.
thank you very much, any info helps.

live rock from this site is a good deal and the price includes shipping. Also lots of people including myself has used lace rock before. Concrete rocks work well but require a good 4-6 weeks of curing in freshwater with lots of water changes first.

That's ALOT of $$$ for live rock - I would strongly recommend ordering it from this site. I ordered 25# a couple of months ago and have been very pleased.

i should have mentioned: the live rock is $9.99 Canadian (converts to about $6.50 American) i already emailed this site regarding shipping to southern ontario and they wont do it. so basically all i need is someone in buffalo new york to lend me their address to ship it to then i'll come and get it from there myself :D
any oppinions on the light bulbs?
($199.99 Canadian = $131.97) too much?

Maybe you can try this. They have LR selling for like 6 bucks a lb cdn but it doesn't include shipping. IMO, It's not even worth thinking to buy their LR if it's 10 bucks a lb. HTH :D :D

thanks for the advice, i have been searching for canadian online marine suppliers for a while now with no luck, so that site helps me a lot. your right about the rock- even after shipping i will save about $600 for the amount i need (150lbs).
thanks again, great help!
