Hello and Happy Holidays,
I purchased 45# of LR pre-cured and set it in my 65Gal. to cycle. I did a 35% water change after a week and a few 10-20% water chages there after. I did not cure the rock with the lights off.....somone told me to give it a shot with the lights on (65x3 Power Compacts). I now have brown round circles floating in the water, some green alge, and LR that is pure white. What did I do wrong? I would like to correct this disaster if I can. But do not want to do any more harm if I can prevent it. There is no substrate in the tank. I do have a great deal of red alge growing on the rock and on the walls of the tank. I did remove a great deal of die off last week......that is when I did the 35% water change. I have a pro. skimmer running along with a Fluval 303.
Water:
No3 80
No2 0
PH 180
Alk 8.4
Sal. 1.023
I am looking for some help. I was thinking of buying some good alge to counter act the red slime. I have been harvesting the red slime. I am in need of some suggestions.
Thanks all and Happy Holidays!
