I am interested in buying a 50lb box of Pre-Cured Live Rock from this site. Has anyone purchased, if so what did you think? Setting up new tank :jumping: and curious if I still need to go though a curing process.

i think most people have been pleased with the rock from this site. the only complaint i've heard is that the 20-25 lb deal is always 20lbs including the packaging, so you get more like 18 lbs.
there will be some die-off from shipping so you would have to cure the rock in a separate tub, tank, bucket, or whatever. however, since this is a brand new tank you could have your cycle with the new liverock.

The only real safe way is to put it in a tank and treat it like uncured and allow it to cycle, which in all reality its going to do........how much of a cycle is anyones guess a that depends on how much die off the rock had. Only real way to say yu have fully cured rock is to pull rock out of an already established setup and imediately place in the new setup. Thats as fully cuycled rock as yur gonna get. Add in an hour or two of transport to new home and the name of the game now changes......add in a day or two and the games name changes even more.

I have approx. 80 lbs of live rock that is in a 75 gal tank now and will be switching to a 155 gal. I am trying to avoid a long cycle process. So if I cure it before putting in the new tank in 30 gallon containors, about how long does that take? I would like to add all at once in the new set up and then add current livestock as soon as possible. Trying to make this as least stressful on current livestock as possible.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I have learmed to not always trust my LFS advice.
