Live rock is expensive, i found a website selling it for $3.36lb. This rock is uncured. How do i cure it? I am just starting to set up my take. Has anyone found live rock cheaper?

shop around differnt stores it usually sells between $4 - $6 depending on which kind it is, but i would go with the cured LR and save yourself the headack or curing it yourself because who wants to wait to put the rock in the tank
but if your starting a new tank then you can add the un cured LR to the tank and cure it in there while the tank cycles
IMO go for cured rock, why wait. also buy alittle at a time....thats what i did:happyfish

That is a very good price for live rock. You will not find it much cheaper at all.
To cure it, you would have to put it in a bucket of saltwater with a powerhead and let it circulate, doing water changes on the bucket every week until there is no longer waste and debris on the rock. A good way to know if it is cured is by smelling it. If it has a bad odor, you know it is not cured yet.
However, if the rock is for a new tank, the cycle of the tank will cure the rock and in that case, you will want to get all of your rock at once so that you don't have to cure a little bit each time. Adding it to a cycled tank in smaller amounts will recycle the tank.

Keep in mind that cured rock will only help if you find it locally. Anything shipped from an internet retailer will need to go through a curing process (due to the extra die off in shipping) once you receive it.
I'd go with the rock you found and cure it once you get it.

why wait to add it to your tank i would rather spend alittle more and have it cured already and just add it to my tank, plus the bad thing about buying it online is you dont pick the pieces you want

Yeah, I am happy with it. Nice big pieces, decent growth, no critters though, atleast not yet. Ended up costing just under $4lb with shipping. LFS in my area are charging $10lb and they don't have any color on any of thier rock. I'll just go thru the hassle of curing my own rock if it will save my $6lb.
