Live rock in hospital tank?

Hello all,
Wondering if it is ok to put a piece of LR in my hospital tank. I have a piece of pvc pipe in there but, my little guys want some LR. Found a good glass hydrometer on sale for $55. I hate ich. Soon, ich hate me........ha ha ha ha......ha.

No, LR can't go in a hospital tank, well you can put it in but it would just die when you treat your fish with hyposalinity, copper, other disease treatment. It would just be dead rock because none of the living organisms will live though treatments. You can use fake rock like lava or lace rock.

Yes it can become live again. Just put the dead rock in with "live" rock that has much growth and things on it then the dead rock should start to grow stuff on it again.

I put in some of that super cheap plain old rock from the LFS to help with the hiding places. No worry of die off, dead rock, etc, and it worked for me. Just a thought, HTH ;)
