Live rock in quarentine tank???

I had a spare 30 gallon tank, that I turned into a quarentine tank for my 55. I was wondering if it was ok, that I did my quarentine tank w/out LR?? I did this because I don't have good lighting in the tank and because when I run the salinity down in the 1.012 range to kill off parasites, I figured this would also do damage to the critters on the LR. So, as to my original question, would it be ok to run a quarentine tank w/out LR???

I would not put live rock in a QT tank, if you need to treat the fish you are likely to kill all the beneficial bacteria on the rock. I put PVC pipes of differing sizes so the fish feels like it has some shelter.

You want the least amount of textured surfaces you can achieve. That way if you get a fish with ich, the ich won't have anything to attach to and multiply. Makes it easier to treat the problem.
