Live Rock Question

:help: I put a LR in my 72 bowfront on the 25th. I will be getting 50lbs of LR on thursday. does this new stuff slow my curing process? (no fish yet)

If you want your tank to cycle faster put the rock in a rubbermaid container with saltwater and a powerhead (some people use a heater also) for a few days to allow for die off from shipping. Add it to your tank and in a few weeks it should be cycled. Be sure to test for ammonia and nitrites during the cycle period. :D

You could either put the LR in the DT and let it cure and cycle the tank or you could cure it in a seperate container. You may be able to preserve more life by curing it in a seperate container because you will want to do large water changes when ammonia is present and thus save a lot of life on the rock.
