I was told that if I have 2 pounds of live rock per gallon of water I wont need a filtration system. I dont think this is true but can you people fill me in? Thanks
It is very true,But you only need 1- 1 & 1/2 LBs per gallon. LIve rock is Natural filtration..Other than that ,You should only need
a Protein skimmer and some powerheads for circulation.
YES LR IS A GOOD SOURCE OF BIO-LOGICAL FILTRATION, IT REMOVES AMMONIA, NITRITES, AND DEEP INSIDE OF LR A CERTAIN BACTERIA WILL REMOVE NITRATES ALSO
I BELEIVE ITS CALLED THE BERLIN METHOD, WHICH USES ONLY LR AND A REALLY GOOD SKIMMER FOR FILTRATION
