Live Rock Question

After about a week, I changed the water in my container that is holding my LR. My question is, The rock never smelled bad. I'm thinking of putting the pieces in my tank at the end of next week. Would that be okay or should I be taking daily NH4 tests, NO2/NO3 tests? There are some "mushy" pieces that are clinging onto the rock. Should these be scrubbed off?

Yes you should test the water. You should not put the rocks into the tank until you get ZERO ammonia and nitrite.
