Im going to buy some LR Sunday. The LFS is about 5 minutes away. Can I just put the rock right in? My tank has been set up with fish since Jan. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

As long as the rock has been cured at your LFS (ask, hopefully they're truthful), go ahead and dump it in

what does cured lr compared to non cured smell like? Just curious, I trust my LFS, but for future reference I'd like to know. Thanks

dont take a shower for a week and swin in the local waste water treatment outlet pond every day of that week. That is what uncured live rock will smell like.
I have seen it sold wrapped up in wet newspaper (uncured) and taken right out of a live rock tank (cured).

hey, if the lr is in a tank with fish/invert and such chances are it's cured, if it comes from a lr only tank then it's not. you can always ask.
if you add uncured there will be die off and you may have a nitrate spike
