Live Rock Question?

If I have a tank that is already been running for four months can i add live rock? Will the rock die if it is added? What does cured mean?

cured means that all the die off from shipping the rock is gone to put it in a nutshell. If it were me I would buy a little trashcan and fill it with saltwater, a heater, and a powerhead and leave the rock in there until there is no ammonia or nitrite levels. Or if you buy it from your lfs you can just throw it in there.
