live rock/sand

I am setting up a 200 gallon saltwater predator tank. I have interviewed 2 people to assit me with setting it up, one says I should have some live rock and live sand, the other says no live rock or sand.
Can I have your opinions?

it depends on what you want to keep wether you actually need it or not. But it does help alot with filtration so you can get away with a lower quality filter when you have live sand/ rock.

w/ an agg i would say do it for the extra filtration, most predator fish r messy eaters so if u dont want a dead tank geta a skimmer if u dont already have one and 1-2lbs of live rock per gallon, same w/ sand.
