Live Rock * Sea Urchin*

I have had my 46 bow reef tank going for about 4 months.
I have 30 lbs of live rock in the tank with live sand and inverts.
I only have shrimp, snails and starfish with some soft coral so far.
I noticed a have something in the tank that looks like a Sea Urchin.
It center is black with like needles all over. Can this be a Sea Urchin. I tried to catch it, it scampered away too fast and hid. I was wondering how it got in! Does this sound like something I should remove, is it dangerous.
I would appreciate any help on this matter.
Thanks.

The description does sound like an Urchin but Ive had Urchins and the fact that you said "it scampered away too fast and hid" has me a bit perplexed. Sea urchins are not the fastest creatures Iv ever seen. And Ive never seen one scamper. Shouldn't be too hard to catch if it is an Urchin.

I've had two urchins hitch on my lr and they've grown tremendous. By your description I don't believe you have an urchin. They are slow as heck and even when I push them they take forever to move. It sounds more like a crab or starfish. They can move pretty quick.

I don't think it is a crab since it had pickers all over it.
I do have a green starfish. What puzzles me is the round center with the pickers which looks like needles all over.
Any other feedback on this.
How did it get in to the tank?

I will wait until morning then I will take a picture.
It is hiding on the side of the skimmer box right now.
Will keep in touch!
Thanks!

It might be a bristle star does it have any leg looking things. If it were to roll up it would look like an urchin and it would explain why it can move fast.
