I dont think they flip burgers at McD.
To answer your question .... I suppose it would be "possible" to carry ICK with water on the LR.... Do you have any fish in the tank that the LR is going into? you could hold off adding fish for a month or put the LR in quarantine for a month if you wanted to be absolutely sure... If it were me ... I dont think I would worry about it too much...
So, IMO...
theoretically, yes ick could ride in on rock or even water...
a real issue?.... probably not, unless you have an overstocked tank or the fish are somehow stressed.

I'll bet you didn't know that we drink an infectuous dose of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Legionella Pneumophilia everytime we drink a glass of tap water. Although we do, we do not come down with pneumonia because we are not immunocompromised.
Same with the fish. Ich is probably in the majority of hobbyists' tanks, but the fish do not contract the disease because their immune defences are not compromised.

legionella is notorious for taking up residence in water piping... hospitals (where many are immunocomprimised) routinely will switch all water pipes to scaldingly hot water to kill these bugs... when was the last time you heat sterilized all the water pipes in your house?:scared:
